“For the last few years, we have been pursuing a better way of eating. While we haven’t quite mastered the art of cooking, we’ve learned a lot and have a desire to share!
It all began when we bought a house and needed something to feed our dinner guests. We started to immerse ourselves in the learning process, purusing DVDs from Julia Child to Alton Brown, hundreds of library-loaned cookbooks, and numerous food blogs. And we practiced.” - Alex&Sonja (A Couple Cooks)
ACL - Introducing Jeffrey’s Grocery
Eventually, our shared appreciation for vintage American aesthetics led to a series of discussions and meetings over the next several months where Gabriel and I would meet to talk about the look and feel for Jeffrey’s.
We discussed everything from the colors of the wood that made up the bar, to the beadboard, the employee uniforms (which are from Levi’s, Gitman Bros. Vintage, Kenton Sorenson Leather, Stanley & Sons and The Hill-Side; more on that here soon) and all of the little design details and layout that goes into making a place unique. - Michael Williams on ACL
Again, reading this introduction of Jeffrey’s grocery motivates us to increase our coverage of small boutique places around the city, whether it be food, fashion or simply and handmade goods. Great work, as always, presented by A Continuous Lean.
What a nice store!
